 Photodamaged skin refers to skin that has been adversely affected by prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or artificial sources like tanning beds. Characteristics of Photodamaged Skin

• Wrinkles and Fine Lines
• Deepening of  Wrinkles: UV radiation accelerates the breakdown of collagen and elastin, leading to premature wrinkling and sagging of the skin.
• Fine Lines: Early signs of aging such as fine lines around the eyes, mouth, and forehead can appear.
• Hyperpigmentation
• Sunspots: Also known as age spots or liver spots, these are flat, dark areas that develop due to an excess production of melanin.
• Freckles: These can become darker and more pronounced with increased sun exposure.
• Textural Changes
• Rough Texture: The skin may feel rough or uneven due to the thickening of the outer layer of skin (hyperkeratosis) and the loss of the smooth texture.
