Skin Booster pre and post care

In order to obtain the best result from your treatment, please take note of the following after care notes for each treatment type

To prepare for your skin booster treatment and achieve the best results, follow these guidelines:
  • Avoid Blood Thinners: Stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and other blood-thinning medications or supplements 7 days prior (unless prescribed by your doctor) to reduce bruising risk.
  • Limit Alcohol and Caffeine: Avoid alcohol for 24–48 hours before treatment and reduce caffeine intake to minimise swelling and bruising.
  • Discontinue Active Skincare: Stop using retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and other exfoliating or irritating products 2–3 days before your appointment.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment to ensure your skin is well-hydrated.
  • Avoid Cosmetic Procedures: Refrain from facials, waxing, chemical peels, or laser treatments on the area for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
  • Medical Disclosure: Inform your provider about any medications, allergies, or medical conditions (e.g., cold sores) and reschedule if you’ve been unwell, had a vaccination in the past 2 weeks, or undergone surgery in the past 4 weeks.
  • Clean Skin: Arrive with a clean face free of makeup, lotions, or sunscreen on the day of treatment
  • Avoid Touching or Rubbing: Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated area for at least 24 hours to prevent irritation and product migration.
  • No Makeup: Avoid applying makeup for 24 hours post-treatment to allow the skin to heal.
  • Sun Protection: Stay out of direct sunlight for at least 48 hours and use SPF 30+ daily to protect sensitive skin.
  • Avoid Heat and Exercise: Refrain from saunas, hot showers, steam rooms, strenuous exercise, or swimming for 24–48 hours post-treatment to reduce swelling and irritation.
  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water to support hydration and enhance the effects of the treatment.
  • Gentle Skincare: Use mild cleansers and moisturisers while avoiding active ingredients like retinoids or acids for at least 48 hours post-treatment.
  • Monitor Healing: Mild swelling, redness, or bruising is normal and should subside within a few days. Apply an ice pack wrapped in a cloth if needed to reduce swelling.
By following these pre- and post-care instructions, you can ensure optimal results from your skin booster treatment.
How soon can I return to my normal activities?
Some patients experience some swelling, bruising or redness after the injection which usually subsides rapidly after treatment. Many patients find they can return to work immediately after treatment.
Will I notice a difference right away?
While some clients may notice an improvement in skin texture and hydration after a week, optimal results are often achieved with multiple sessions 4 weeks apart or as recommended by your provider.
Is it painful?
Our Skin booster treatments are typically well-tolerated, with minimal discomfort. A numbing cream can be applied before treatment to enhance comfort during the procedure.
