Your SMP treatment will require a bit of preparation. We’ll go over what you have to take care of before you go to your appointment. The key elements of your before-care routine include:
- planning and research
- hydration
- avoiding sunlight.
If your scalp is hydrated, the pigments will be absorbed better. As a result, the initial appearance of your SPM will last much longer. To get ready for your treatment:
- Plan your next vacation on time. Keep in mind that you’ll need to avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and swimming as well for the first 30 days. Play your summer vacation accordingly.
- Talk to your trainer. Tell them you’ll need to switch to low-impact exercises soon. Plan a workout routine that won’t make you sweat at all.
- Avoid blood-thinning medication. Medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen are out of the question before a SPM treatment.
- Stay hydrated, and avoid alcohol and caffeine. Try to refrain from consuming coffee and drinking 48 hours before your treatment. Instead, drink lots of water.
- Avoid sun exposure. Even before your SMP session, try your best to avoid your scalp exposed to direct sunlight.
- Exfoliate. To have lasting results, you’ll need to remove the dead skin cells from your scalp.
- Moisturize. For at least a week, moisturize your scalp for 3-4 times a day.
- Wash your hair the night before. Wash your scalp thoroughly with a mild shampoo.
Scalp Aftercare – First 2 Weeks The aftercare during the first 10-14 days following your treatment will determine the longevity of your SMP results. If you follow the instructions your SMP specialist shares, you’ll reduce the risk of any side effects.
