Rejuran pre and post care

In order to obtain the best result from your treatment, please take note of the following after care notes for each treatment type.

The Rejuran treatment process begins with a consultation with our registered nurse. During this session, we will evaluate your skin condition, discuss your goals, and customise the treatment plan to suit your specific needs. They will also provide guidance on how to prepare for the procedure, which may include discontinuing certain medications and skincare products that could affect the treatment’s efficacy. It’s essential to inform your practitioner about any existing medical conditions or allergies to ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for you.
  • Consultation: Attend a comprehensive consultation to discuss your skin concerns, medical history, allergies, and current medications. This helps determine if Rejuran is suitable for you and allows your practitioner to create a personalised treatment plan.
  • Avoid Blood Thinners: Discontinue blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, green tea, garlic, and St. John’s Wort at least 3–7 days prior to treatment, unless otherwise directed by your doctor. This reduces the risk of bruising and bleeding.
  • Cease Active Skincare: Stop using retinoids, vitamin A, AHAs, BHAs, and other exfoliating or irritating skincare products for at least 7 days before your appointment to prevent skin sensitivity.
  • Limit Alcohol and Caffeine: Avoid alcohol and limit caffeine intake for a few days before treatment, as these can increase the likelihood of swelling and bruising.
  • Sun Protection: Avoid excessive sun and wind exposure for at least 7 days prior. Do not use tanning beds or self-tanning products, and protect your skin with SPF 30+ if sun exposure is unavoidable.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your procedure to keep your skin well-hydrated and support healing.
  • Cold Sore Precaution: If you have a history of cold sores, consult your practitioner about taking a preventative antiviral medication before treatment, as the procedure may trigger an outbreak.
  • Arrive with Clean Skin: On the day of your appointment, ensure your face is clean and free of makeup, moisturiser, sunscreen, or any other skincare products.
By following these steps, you help ensure a safe procedure and achieve the best possible results from your Rejuran treatment. The Rejuran treatment itself typically takes between 30 and 60 minutes. To minimise discomfort, local anaesthesia or numbing cream is usually applied to the treatment area. Using fine needles, the nurse injects Rejuran into the dermal layer of the skin in a precise and even manner. The procedure is generally well-tolerated by patients, with most reporting minimal discomfort.
After the procedure, you will receive specific post-treatment care instructions to optimise healing and enhance the results of the treatment. It is normal to experience mild redness or swelling immediately following the injections, but these side effects typically resolve within a few days. The full effects of Rejuran will gradually become noticeable as the skin regenerates over the weeks following the treatment. Key recommendations include:
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure.
  • Refrain from using harsh skincare products for a few days.
  • Keep the treated area well-moisturised.
How Does It Actually Work?
Rejuran is administered by medical professionals, targeting areas of concern such as around the eyes, face, neck and even scars. Once administered, the polynucleotides in Rejuran stimulate the activity of fibroblasts, which are responsible for producing collagen and elastin – two key components for maintaining skin firmness and elasticity. The gentle stimulation of these cells supports natural skin rejuvenation, allowing clients to experience improvements in overall skin quality over time.
Is it painful?
Rejuran treatments are typically well-tolerated, with minimal discomfort. A numbing cream can be applied before treatment to enhance comfort during the procedure.
How long does it take to see results?
While some clients may notice an improvement in skin texture and hydration after a week, optimal results are often achieved with multiple sessions 4 weeks apart or as recommended by your provider.
How long do the effects of Rejuran last?
The results vary depending on individual skin type and lifestyle. With proper aftercare, clients can enjoy improvements in skin quality for several months.
Is there any downtime?
It requires minimal downtime, though clients can experience minor swelling and visible papules immediately after treatment. These effects usually subside within a day or two.
