- Keep Area Clean and Moisturised: Gently cleanse with mild soap and water, pat dry, and apply a recommended ointment (such as Aquaphor or Vaseline-based products) 2–3 times daily until healed.
- Dressings: Cover with non-adhesive gauze as directed, especially if blisters or scabs form. Change dressings daily or as advised.
- Avoid Picking: Do not pick, scratch, or exfoliate scabs or blisters; allow them to heal naturally to prevent infection and scarring.
- Limit Physical Activity: Avoid strenuous exercise, hot showers, saunas, and swimming for at least 24–48 hours post-treatment to reduce irritation and risk of infection.
- Sun Protection: Avoid sun exposure on the treated area for at least 2–4 weeks after each session. Use SPF 30+ once the area has healed.
- Pain and Swelling: Use cool compresses to reduce discomfort and swelling. Take paracetamol if needed, but avoid aspirin and ibuprofen as they may increase bruising.
- Monitor Healing: Watch for signs of infection (increased redness, swelling, pus, or fever) and contact your provider if these occur.
- Loose Clothing: Continue to wear loose clothing over the area to minimise friction and irritation during healing.
