Please note, your tattooist will advise you on which method is most appropriate for you to follow. It will depend on your skin type and the treatment method as to which aftercare method you should follow. To achieve the best results and minimise risks, clients should follow these preparation steps before a cosmetic tattoo procedure:
  • Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine: Do not consume alcohol or caffeinated drinks for at least 24 hours before your appointment, as these can increase bleeding and sensitivity.
  • Discontinue Blood Thinners: Stop taking blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, ibuprofen) and supplements like fish oil, vitamin E, and certain herbal products at least 1–2 weeks prior, unless prescribed by your doctor.
  • Pause Active Skincare: Cease using retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin A, C, and E products, and exfoliants on the treatment area for 1–2 weeks before your appointment to reduce skin sensitivity.
  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun, tanning beds, and avoid sunburn for at least 2 weeks before your procedure, as this can affect pigment retention and healing.
  • No Waxing or Tinting: Do not wax, tweeze, thread, tint, or laminate the treatment area for at least 1–2 weeks prior.
  • Pause Skin Treatments: Avoid peels, laser, microdermabrasion, or needling in the area for 2–3 weeks before your appointment.
  • Arrive with Clean Skin: On the day, cleanse the area thoroughly and do not apply makeup, creams, or serums to the treatment site.
  • Consultation and Health: Inform your artist of any allergies, medical conditions, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (cosmetic tattooing is not recommended in these cases).
Following these steps helps ensure a safe procedure and optimal, long-lasting results.

Dermaluxe Beauty

Proper aftercare is essential to achieve the best results from your eyebrow tattoo treatment.

Immediately After Treatment (Day 0)

  • You will be provided with an aftercare kit
  • When you arrive home, gently cleanse your brows using cotton pads and water
  • Lightly wipe over the area to remove any fluid (lymph build-up)
  • This helps prevent excessive scabbing

Days 1–7 (Healing Phase)

  • Keep brows clean and dry
  • Do not touch or interfere with the area
  • Do not allow brows to get wet
  • Do not apply makeup, skincare, or creams over the brows

If brows feel tight or dry:

  • Apply a very small amount of aftercare ointment once daily if needed

Allow any flaking or scabbing to fall off naturally. Do not pick.

What to Avoid (First 1–2 Weeks)

  • Picking, scratching, or touching the brows
  • Water, steam, sweating or excessive moisture
  • Exercise that causes sweating (first 5–7 days)
  • Swimming, saunas and spas
  • Makeup or skincare on the brow area
  • Active ingredients such as retinol, acids, or peels
  • Sun exposure and UV

Additional Precautions

  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine and blood-thinning medications for 24 hours
  • Avoid touching brows with unclean hands

After Healing (Around 10–14 Days)

  • You may return to your normal skincare and makeup routine
  • Continue to treat the area gently

Long-Term Care

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure; UV will cause faster fading
  • Use sunscreen over the brows once healed
  • Avoid exfoliating directly over the area
  • Limit brow tinting
  • Avoid aggressive skin treatments directly over the brows

Important Information

  • Some flaking and fading during healing is normal
  • Final results are visible once healing is complete
  • A follow-up appointment is recommended to perfect the result
