Lipolysis (fat dissolving) pre and post care

In order to obtain the best result from your treatment, please take note of the following after care notes for each treatment type.

  • Consultation: Have a thorough consultation with your provider to assess suitability, discuss expectations, and review your medical history and medications.
  • Avoid Blood Thinners: Stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and other blood-thinning supplements or medications 24–72 hours before treatment (unless prescribed by your doctor) to reduce bruising.
  • Limit Alcohol and Smoking: Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 24–48 hours before your session to support healing and reduce swelling.
  • No Strenuous Exercise: Refrain from intense physical activity for 24 hours prior to treatment.
  • Skin Preparation: Clean the treatment area and avoid applying creams, lotions, or makeup on the day of your appointment.
  • Compression Garments: Purchase any recommended compression garments in advance, as advised by your provider.
  • Hydration: Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your procedure
  • Manage Swelling and Bruising: Swelling, redness, and bruising are common and may last several days to a week. Apply cold compresses (not directly on skin) for 10–15 minutes at a time to reduce discomfort.
  • Pain Relief: Use paracetamol if needed for discomfort. Avoid NSAIDs unless approved by your provider.
  • Avoid Touching or Rubbing: Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated area for the first 24 hours.
  • Compression Garments: Wear compression garments as directed to help reduce swelling and support healing.
  • No Strenuous Activity: Avoid intense exercise, saunas, hot baths, and swimming for at least 2–3 days post-treatment.
  • Hydration and Diet: Drink plenty of water (at least 2L daily) and maintain a healthy, balanced diet to support fat elimination and healing.
  • Gentle Cleansing: Cleanse the area gently with a mild cleanser; avoid harsh products for several days.
  • Monitor for Complications: Watch for signs of infection (increased redness, swelling, pain, or fever) and contact your provider if these occur.
  • Follow-Up: Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments to monitor progress and discuss any concerns.

Following these pre- and post-care instructions helps optimise results, minimise side effects, and support a smooth recovery after lipolysis treatments.

How long will it take to see results ?
Most patients start to see significant results from PCDC lipolysis after their second, third, or fourth treatment session. Each treatment will contribute more to the fat cells breaking down, and once they’re gone, those cells will never return. Repeat treatments are needed at 8 week intervals until optimal results are achieved. Expect at least 2 treatments minimum
What exactly are PCDC lipolysis injections
PCDC injections, often labeled as lipodissolve, mesotherapy, or PCDC lipolysis, are a combination of two substances, phosphatidylcholine (PC) and deoxycholate (DC). These substances naturally exist in our bodies and when combined and injected, they can help reduce and dissolve stubborn body fat permanently.
Who is a Suitable Candidate for PCDC?
PCDC could be the right treatment for you if you struggle with persistent fat pockets that don't respond to diet and exercise. However, it may not be suitable if you: · Are pregnant or breastfeeding · Have allergies to soy · Are at an unhealthy weight · Have firm or fibrous fat deposits Additionally, if you have any chronic health conditions, it's recommended to consult with your physician or PCDC specialist before considering this treatment.
Are There Any Side Effects from PCDC Injections?
Some common mild side effects include redness, swelling, stinging, bruising, and general soreness that may last a few days after the procedure. Although rare, more serious side effects can include infection, skin necrosis, and lumps at the injection site.
